PROJECTS

The aim of IAPI is to bring together botanists and illustrators to use their combined skills for illustrating the diversity of plant structure and function. Projects are one way to do this by encouraging members to work on a chosen topic, to build up a body of work from which items can be selected for exhibition and publication.

Members are encouraged to sign up for components of projects to maximize coverage of the topic, and to take advantage of the geographical spread of members. Some duplication is useful, however, especially where it allows comparison of approaches to illustration, use of different media, and so on.

2006 - Climbing Plants
Illustrations of native climbing plants and their climbing mechanisms.

2007 - Nuts
Using illustrations, the development of the fruit from the flower show how some edible nuts are true, botanical nuts while others are different types of fruit.
